The National Science Day 2025, Organised by the Yenepoya (Deemed to be University)

As a part of the National Science Day, Yenepoya ( Deemed to be University) Organised the Program on 28/02/2025. The event was graced by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shripathi Rao B H, Chief Guest Dr. Alexander Hankey (Professor Emeritus, MIT-World Peace University, Pune), Controller of Examinatios Dr. Nandish BT, Director R&D Dr. Rekha PD, Assistant Registrar Dr. Afreem Shabbir, Deputy Director YRC Dr. Yashodhara Bhandari, Convener Dr. Ranajith Das and Finance Officer Mr. Ameer Bava Ahmed.

The Welcome address was given by the Convener Dr.Ranajith Das, who emphasized the pressing need for discussions on youth empowerment, mental health, the metaverse, and the increasing trend of migration among Indian youth. He stressed that open forums are essential in addressing these challenges and fostering solutions for India's progress. Chief Guest address was given by Dr.Alexander Hankey, has stressed the need for holistic and integrative approach and also commended the efforts of Indians in the global growth. This year the prestigious awards of best researcher were given to total of 31 faculty of constituent Units of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) , to promote student research the awards were extended to undergraduate, postgraduate and Phd Schloars as well. The Best research department awards were also given to 1st Place Department of Public Health Dentistry, Yenepoya Dental College, 2nd Place Department of Forensic Medicine, Yenepoya Medical College and third place shared by Department of Biochemistry, Yenepoya Medical College, Department of Pharmacognosy, Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Centre. The Top Performers were special Appreciation awards in both the Researcher and Department categories. Centre for Ethics., Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Department of Prosthodontics and Department of Pharmaceutics. Dr.Nandish B.T Controller of Examination announced the awards to all the winners.

There were Quiz, Debate and E-Poster Competitions held on Account of the NSD and the awards were announced by Dr.Soujanya Kaup.

The Citations of the Dr.M.Vijayakumar, Honorable ViceChancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr.Gangadhara Somayaji Registrar Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and Dr.Rekha PD Director Research and Development Cell were read to the audience for their contributions towards the Science was done by Dr.Yashodhar Bhandary Deputy Director Yenepoya Research Centre.

Dr.B.H Sripathi Rao in the presidential address lauded the efforts of the faculty and students but also reminded all to strive hard to continuously for the university.

The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr.Imran Pasha M, Reader Department of Public Health Dentistry, Yenepoya Dental College.

ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಡಾ.ರಣಜಿತ್ ದಾಸ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು, ಅವರು ಯುವ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಮೆಟಾವರ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಲಸೆಯ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಈ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ಮುಕ್ತ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳು ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಡಾ.ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂಡರ್ ಹ್ಯಾಂಕಿ ಅವರು ಸಮಗ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಗ್ರ ವಿಧಾನದ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ (ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ) ಘಟಕಗಳ ಒಟ್ಟು 31 ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪದವಿಪೂರ್ವ, ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಿಎಚ್‌ಡಿ ಸ್ಕಾಲರ್‌ಗಳಿಗೂ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ದಂತವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ ದಂತ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಕಾಲೇಜು, 2ನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದ ಫೋರೆನ್ಸಿಕ್ ಮೆಡಿಸಿನ್ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮತ್ತು ತೃತೀಯ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಫಾರ್ಮಾಕಾಗ್ನಸಿ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ ಫಾರ್ಮಸಿ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಇಲಾಖೆ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳೆರಡರಲ್ಲೂ ಉನ್ನತ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕಾರರು ವಿಶೇಷ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು. ಸೆಂಟರ್ ಫಾರ್ ಎಥಿಕ್ಸ್., ಓರಲ್ ಮೆಡಿಸಿನ್ ಮತ್ತು ರೇಡಿಯಾಲಜಿ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಪ್ರೊಸ್ಟೊಡಾಂಟಿಕ್ಸ್ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮತ್ತು ಫಾರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯುಟಿಕ್ಸ್ ವಿಭಾಗ. ಡಾ.ನಂದೀಶ್ ಬಿ.ಟಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಕರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಜೇತರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು.

ಎನ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಡಿ ಖಾತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಸಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ, ಚರ್ಚೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇ-ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳು ನಡೆದವು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಡಾ.ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಕೌಪ್ ಅವರು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು.

ಡಾ.ಎಂ.ವಿಜಯಕುಮಾರ್, ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಉಪಕುಲಪತಿಗಳು, ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ (ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ), ಡಾ.ಗಂಗಾಧರ ಸೋಮಯಾಜಿ ಕುಲಸಚಿವ ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ (ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ) ಮತ್ತು ಡಾ.ರೇಖಾ ಪಿಡಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕೋಶದ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಗಳನ್ನು ಸಭಿಕರಿಗೆ ವಾಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಡಾ.ಬಿ.ಎಚ್.ಶ್ರೀಪತಿ ರಾವ್ ಅವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು ಆದರೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು.

ಯೆನೆಪೋಯ ದಂತ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಪಬ್ಲಿಕ್ ಹೆಲ್ತ್ ಡೆಂಟಿಸ್ಟ್ರಿ ರೀಡರ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಡಾ.ಇಮ್ರಾನ್ ಪಾಷಾ ಎಮ್ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.

ಯೆನೆಪೊಯ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ (ವೈಆರ್‌ಸಿ) ಡಾ.ಯುವರಾಜ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪುಣ್ಯ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
