The Department of Neurology in collaboration with the Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion (IHBT) successfully performed its first ever centrifuge based therapeutic plasma exchange for Neuromyelitis Optica, a rare autoimmune neurological disorder affecting the optic nerve and spinal cord.
