Newer and sophisticated technologies adopted in the modern healthcare practice have made the healthcare waste management complex. It has become essential to ensure safety of the patients, healthcare providers, waste handlers and the environment in and around hospital settings. This demands collective commitment right from the products we choose to deliver healthcare till their safe and appropriate disposal. Thus strategic planning and innovations are awaited for simpler and sustainable solutions for managing the healthcare waste.
ISHWMCON 2012 will be a platform to review the progress achieved so far in this regard, identify the challenges ahead and develop strategies to meet these. The conference shall provide excellent opportunity for exchange of views and opinions among the academicians, policy makers, administrators, medical practitioners, students and other stakeholders to plan for a better tomorrow.
